The Story of Angharad Banadaspus Drakenhefd

My main persona is 5th Century Welsh/Sarmatian. In the 5th Century all able bodies Sarmation warriors were sent by the Romans to work on Hadrian's Wall. The Romans had gotten tired of them constantly switching which side they were fighting for or against. This is how the Welsh and Sarmatian link would have occurred. There are some who believe that the Arthurian legends stem from the Sarmatian Nard Sagas.

I like to time travel in the SCA so I can wear different costumes and study other time periods. One of my other favorites is the 12th Century. I love the clothing from that time period, plus it's the time period of one of my favorite people in history - Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine (one of my mundane ancestors).

That's the condensed version of my persona. I loved the Arthurian legends as I was growing up and the Middle Ages in general and that's what led me to the SCA.

Angharad

I thought I'd give a quick breakdown of my SCA name
for those who might be interested.

Duchess Angharad Banadaspus Drakenhefd

Duchess - my highest title because I've been Queen more than once

Angharad - Welsh name meaning "beloved one"

Banadaspus - Sarmatian name meaning "leader of horses"

Drakenhefd - Welsh meaning "dragon's head"
