Basic Information

THEME:  This year’s event and contest is focused on the tulip, as it came from the Ottoman Empire to the Netherlands in the last years of the 16th Century.

PRESENTATION:  Each contestant will be given a pre-assigned time slot between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.  You’ll have a 15-minute time slot, during which you may use up to 10 minute for your presentation.  The remainder of your 15 minutes is designated for question-and-answer from the judging panel.  You will have the five minutes prior to your scheduled time slot to set up your display.  A round table will be made available for this purpose.

  1. Each entry must have some relationship to the tulip as it falls within the scope of the event theme (see above).
  2. For all objects and bardic arts, one or two pages of documentation is required.  Please bring four printed copies of your documentation to the event.
  3. Each contestant must contact HL Avelyn de Mowbray by Friday, 1 November 2013 to declare his/her intent to enter, and provide a description of his/her entry.  If the entry is a research paper, the finished paper must be emailed to HL Avelyn by this date, and four printed copies brought to the event.
